My name is Megan Shafer and I am the Elementary Counselor. This will be my 12th year of being a school counselor and I am super excited to continue my sixth year of being a Buffalo! My husband graduated from Stanton and we’re excited to raise our son in the school & community that he grew up in!! 

I’m originally from Oklahoma, where I graduated from Oklahoma State. GO POKES! I have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Science and a Master’s degree in Counseling. I am passionate about student development and supporting student academic, social, and emotional growth. I look forward to working with you as parents (along with our teachers and administers) to ensure your student reaches his/her full potential.

6 Career Pathways

6th & 7th Grade will begin researching the 6 Career Pathways (see picture below). After your student is able to narrow down a Pathway of interest, we will begin exploring the 16 Career Clusters that fall within the 6 Pathways. I hope to help students to integrate their areas of interest with their subject areas of strength. The ultimate hope is that students begin to create a long-term goal for what they hope to do after high school.
